To our Dear Brothers, Bnei Yisrael,
Eager to Give Tzedakah and to Do Chesed,
May Hashem bless you and give you long days filled with goodness and sweetness
Shalom U'Berachah,
We are an organization that establishes Torah Classes for children and youth in the neighborhood of Ramot, Yerushalayim. For over two years we have been active in spreading the light of Torah amongst the youth of this area in which we ourselves live.
With Hashem's help we have had tremendous success. From very modest beginnings (three teachers) we have grown to a full-fledged organization offering a wide range of activities (and we now have 20 teachers). Each week, we offer 50 classes to children in all areas of Judaism. In these classes, the boys learn Chumash w/Rashi, Mishna, Gemara, etc. In addition, we have a Beit Midrash Erev for youth, to which avrechim who live in the area come in order to learn privately with each young boy. We provide the stipend to the avrechim for this wonderful mitzvah.
In addition, we have established numerous group shiurim: a gemara shiur in Mesechet Berachot for younger boys; a shiur in leyning (ta'amei ha'mikra); a shiur for young girls with a rabbanit; a story-time shiur for young children telling them about tzadikim and the words of chazal; a father-and-son learning program; a shiur in mishnayot on Shabbat; a shiur in taharat ha'mishpacha for women, given by a rabbanit who is an expert in this area. All of this in addition to celebrations that are held intermittently, such as on Chanukah and Purim.
All of the children who participate in our activities receive points and prizes as incentives. Each month we publish "Orot Avraham," a booklet with divrei Torah, sipurei tzadikim, hilchot Shabbat, news of planned activities, and mazal tovs for all simchas.
All of this together with salaries for the teachers costs a fortune each month, all of which has been provided by generous donations. However, our Coordinator, a private individual who has carried the weight of the entire organization till now, has suffered a setback and is no longer able to do this alone. We therefore call out to you: Do not abandon us! Let us not see this entire operation fold for want of supporters! For it is known how much the Skuliner Rebbe zt"l worked all his life to mekarev young men to Torah and Mitzvot. This is especially heartbreaking because these youths whose lives we have helped change, come from non-religious families. Ours is their only connection to the sweetness of Torah. We therefore beg of you to contribute generously, so that the merit of the song of the Torah and drawing close of the hearts of those who are far will accrue to you and to your families, to be blessed with all goodness. Amen, Selah!
